Veolia Transport is an active corporate partner in the community and works closely with community groups to develop partnerships that are of substantial benefit to people within the area we service. Example: Community access Veolia Transport provides buses, free of charge, to community groups to help improve access to public transport. Buses are provided to Calvary Hospital to retrain elderly people to use public transport after surgery or long term cancer treatment. A partnership with Guide Dogs Australia sees Veolia Transport buses used to train guide dogs by practising loading and unloading them onto buses in an electric wheel chair. The NSW Police Department’s K9 unit also access Veolia Transport buses for drugs and explosives training. Example: Veolia Spirit Program Through a new initiative, Veolia Transport employees can elect to make a regular donation to select charities from their pre-tax pay and Veolia Transport matches this donation. The Veolia Spirit program increases the impact of employee donations and allows charities to plan activities around a regular income stream. The charities benefiting from the Veolia Spirit program were identified through an employee survey.
